Craft Bank Honors Wishbone Day: Celebrating Bexlee’s Strength and Spirit

At Craft Bank, Wishbone Day is more than a moment of awareness. It’s an opportunity to celebrate resilience, courage, and the incredible individuals who inspire us every day.

Meet Bexlee, the niece of our own commercial loan operations administrator Billi McCoy

Bexlee’s journey with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), or brittle bone disease, continues to be marked by strength, determination, and joy.

What is the "Queen B of Resilience" Doing Now?

Over the past year, Bexlee has reached exciting milestones and embraced new experiences that reflect her unstoppable spirit. She recently celebrated her 12th birthday surrounded by a big group of friends—an occasion filled with laughter, love, and the kind of energy that defines who she is.

Bexlee has also taken on a special role as Team Manager for the Dixie High School “Flyers” Girls Basketball Team where she was honored with The Flyer Award, which recognizes four key qualities: Physical, Tough, Smart, and Together. The award is given to someone who embodies what it means to be a true teammate—the kind of person you’d want by your side in any challenge. For Bexlee, it’s a reflection of the heart, positivity, and leadership she brings to everything she does.

Outside of school and sports, Bexlee continues to make memories with her family. Earlier this year, she went on her very first turkey hunting trip with her dad—an experience she had been looking forward to for a long time. Being able to share that moment together made it especially meaningful, creating memories they’ll both cherish.

Medically, Bexlee continues to face her journey with resilience and grace. In March, she traveled to Primary Children’s Hospital and Shriners Hospital in Salt Lake City for continued care. After previously pausing her “bone juice” infusions, her care team determined it would be beneficial to resume treatments every six months.

In April, Bexlee will undergo surgery to replace the rods in her right tibia and fibula, as well as have a plate placed in her left knee to help straighten her leg. While these procedures are part of her ongoing journey, they are also steps forward to supporting her mobility, strength, and ability to keep doing the things she loves.

Through it all, Bexlee continues to show what it means to live fully, lead with heart, and inspire those around her.

This Wishbone Day, our team team is proud to celebrate Bexlee. Not just for her strength in the face of challenges, but for the joy, determination, and spirit she brings to every moment. She reminds us all of the power of perseverance and the importance of community.

At Craft Bank, we are honored to stand with Bexlee and her family, and to raise awareness for Osteogenesis Imperfecta.

Because stories like hers don’t just inspire. They bring us together.
